Received the opportunity to direct Stolen Summer (2001) after his script won the Project Greenlight competition sponsored by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
1988 graduate of Deerfield High School, Deerfield, Illinois.
He was unemployed when he won the contest to direct his screenplay.
