Igo Kantor was born in Vienna, Austria, and received a High School and Music education in Lisbon, Portugal. He received a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations and a Master's Degree in Political Science from UCLA. Mr. Kantor speaks the following languages fluently: Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese and Hebrew. He is also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Directors' Guild of America. He has been a US Citizen since 1952.Igo Kantor is the President of Major Arts Corporation and has produced several films from 1977 to 1996. He has worked all over the globe and is very knowledgeable about co-productions in foreign countries. Presently, he is writing, producing and directing 65 ½ hr. shows for Liberty International, called "Scope", starring Joe Penny and Alexandra Cousteau. The following is a partial list of the films and television shows produced by Igo Kantor: "Kingdom of the Spiders" (nominated as best horror film), "The Dark", "Hardly Working" (grossed over 40 million), "United We Stand" (2 Hour Pre-Olympic Special), "Blood, Sweat and Tears' Iron Curtain Odyssey" (TV Special), "FTA", "Legends of the West with Jack Palance" (TV Series, winner of the Western Heritage Award by the Cowboy Hall of Fame for best TV Western Documentary of 1992), "Holiday Classic Cartoons". Current projects in preparation include: "Alibi Store", "Twirpy", "A Stone's Throw", "Sean", "Kingdom of the Spiders II", "Shadows over Africa", "Tonight at Eleven", "Lyon's Den" and "The International Jazz Awards".Additional Post-Production background includes his involvement at Synchrofilm, Inc. as Founder, President, Film and Music Editor, and Post-Production Supervisor. For 8 years, Kantor was in charge of post-production on about 200 features and many TV shows, Specials and Series. Some of the better known features that he supervised are: "Easy Rider", "Five Easy Pieces", "Last Picture Show", "Papillon", "The Candidate", "Lovers and Other Strangers", "Woodstock", "Hang 'em High", "Badlands", "Fritz the Cat", "King of Marvin Gardens", "Kentucky Fried Movie", "Benji", "Johnny Got His Gun", "Macon County Line", "The War Wagon", and the following TV Series: "Monkees", "Tarzan", "Superman", "Doris Day", "Puff-n-Stuff", "Insight", "The Search", etc. Kantor also received Emmy nominations 3 years in a row for editing the Bob Hope Christmas Show. In 1963, Kantor was Music Supervisor at Universal on "Wagon Train", "General Electric Playhouse Theatre" and "Chrysler Playhouse". Between 1954 and 1962, Kantor was head of the Music Editorial Department at Columbia Pictures and Screen Gems. He edited or supervised the music for features like: "Bye Bye Birdie", "Under the Yum Yum Tree", "The Interns", "Gidget Goes to Rome", "Diamond Head"; and TV shows like: "Father Knows Best", "Donna Reed", "Playhouse 90", "Dennis the Menace", "Ford Theater", "Hazel", "Rin-Tin-Tin", "Alcoa Goodyear", "Naked City", "Circus Boy", "Empire".
