Born in Sydney, Australia, 1976 to Australian father Bill Mason and Finnish mother Marja-Leena Malinen, Felicity's interests led to acting when she first performed at Pymble Theater, Sydney as the sole child actress of the production "McCarthur House" at age 10.She grew up in a family of enthusiastic amateur theater actors. Her mother, father, aunt, uncle and grandparents all performed in various productions, with her mother Leena also co-writing and directing a show. After studying Fine Art at Griffith University, Queensland, Australia, Felicity took on a career as a Fine Artist, exhibiting her paintings in various Brisbane cafes, restaurants and galleries. To further fund her career as an artist, Felicity joined an acting agency and soon found herself appearing in numerous TVCs. This led to several short drama courses and in 1999 Felicity joined The Actors' Workshop (a private drama school) where she graduated with an associate diploma of acting. Further to her tuition, she completed an intensive screen acting course at the prestigious NIDA university, Sydney New South Wales. NIDA is internationally recognised as a dynamic and innovative school with an intensive and rigorous curriculum whose past graduates include Russel Crowe, Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett and Mel Gibson.
