Born in Greece where she learnt classical singing. Fired from Athen's conservatory because she used to sing jazz in cabarets. Began an international career as singer in the early 60s. Sold her first million records in Germany.Released a jazz album directed by Quincy Jones in 1962. Sold over 300 millions albums worlwide. Married to the music producer André Chapelle January, 13, 2003 in Switzerland. Her latest album "Fille du soleil" (Mercury / Universal - 2002) contains songs written by Charles Aznavour, Jean-Claude Brialy, Marie Nimier and Daniel Lavoie.
