Susan was a relatively new arrival to Los Angeles when she landed her first lead role in the 2005 motion picture Virginia (post production). With her blonde, carefree yet somehow European style, it's hard to pinpoint at first glance where this new arrival comes from. Canadian born, Susan grew up in a small beach town on lake Ontario called Cobourg. In her late teens she started her career modeling in Toronto. She quickly dove into studying acting and within her first year at the Fulcher School of Drama Susan won 4 awards at the New York, N.Y. International Talent Conference out of a whopping 887 other actresses from around North America in her age category. That following year, she also won the Female Best Talent of the Year within the entire Fulcher school itself. After sculpting her skills in drama she changed her focus toward comedy, starting with Second City Improv on Lombard Street in Toronto, Canada; she moved on to stand-up with Yuk Yuks' manager Ed Smeal and later experienced the rush of L.A.'s own historical Comedy Store on Sunset. Dual citizenship mixed with natural talent makes her a hot commodity for casting directors in both international film and television. You wouldn't realize it but there's really only a handful of good-looking, quality talent that offers the freedom to work in both Canada and the U.S.Outside of the theater, she admittedly has a strange and random mix of career experiences that led up to who she is today. In her own words she was " a little too big for her britches" at a young age and at only nineteen she opened up her own 110 seat licensed restaurant on the harbor of a little tourist town called Tobermory, Ontario. "Looking back in retrospect, I don't know who I thought I was! Here was this 19 year old girl dealing with building contractors, liquor inspectors, entertainment managers, orchestrating town council meetings and fighting local fat cats... and I had no money to start with at that! I guess that was the key; I didn't stop to think about it. I just did it."Other endeavors include being a legally certified hypnotist, a brief but disciplined stint at Police College and working her way through school working at morgue and funeral home. "Between the embalming, selling caskets and driving the hearse... shooting guns and hypnotizing people, illegally selling real estate without a license and running her own bar... it doesn't take much to understand that she might have a few diverse sides to her that might need a little venting. Hence, the actress." quotes Michael Savage (Head of Drama at the Fulcher Arts School, Toronto.) "She has a mystery about her. Like Yin and Yang as, although she's light, good hearted & fun... there's something about her that could be dangerous too. She has a way of smiling at you like she loves you but, you know in her mind, she knows something that you don't know."
