Australian actress born into an academic family (her father is a Professor of American history at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia). Melissa Bickerton started acting at the age of 5 and her first stage performance came at the age of 8. She spent her formative years in the USA before returning to Australia at the age of 6. She spent the next 10 years attending some of the best acting schools in Australia. She went on to perform in many plays, National Australian musical tours and television shows before she was "discovered" and starred in the National musical production of "Seven Little Australians", a classic Australian novel. For her portrayal of Judy, Melissa was nominated for Australia's three major theatrical awards; The Greenroom, The Mo and The Sydney Theatre Critics Award for Best Female Performance in a Musical.
