Frances' mother, the founder of a London theater school, helped her with television and film jobs from an early age. She first appeared in a West End musical at age 16. She went on to create the role of "Eponine" in the blockbuster musical, Les Misérables, which she also took to Broadway, where she was awarded a Tony. After New York she returned to London, appeared in a few more musicals, and has currently been focusing on a pop career. She represented Britain in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, and has released a pop album, "Fragile". In June of 1996 she will be returning to the role of Eponine for a limited time.
