Father of Bill Sheinberg and Jonathan Sheinberg Responsible for the substantial changes made to Legend (1985) for its American release. He also tried a similar tactic with Brazil (1985) but unlike Ridley Scott, Terry Gilliam did not move an inch and prevailed in the end. Former studio chief of Universal Pictures, as well as a close colleague of the late Lew Wasserman (former head of Universal Studios and MCA). A very moving script fell into his lap while head of Universal, and he knew that only one man was right for the job, so he sat down with his friend & colleague, Steven Spielberg, and told him he should do it.. and he did, it was Shindler's List. Co-owns a large apartment on the 62nd floor of Trump Tower in Manhattan with Steven Spielberg.
