She played Frenchy in the original Broadway production of "Grease".
Unsuccessfully ran to represent the 25th District in California in the House of Representatives on the Natural Law ticket in 2000.
Her father was a doctor and her mother an artist.
Her great-grandparents were abolitionists, suffragettes and worked for human rights and union organization.
