David was born in New York and grew up in Boston, quickly becoming a die-hard Red Sox & Patriots fan. After graduating with a B.A. in Communications from University Massachusetts/Amherst, he stayed in New England working as a radio DJ and news reporter, spent three years back in New York acting and modeling, then moved to Los Angeles in 1990, where he continues to act.
