Though born in Finland, it is difficult for Jani Blom to consider himself a native of any land; he spent most of his childhood moving around the world for his parents work, eventually settling in Stockholm, Sweden, which he now considers his hometown. It was in Stockholm that he auditioned for and got accepted to the prestigious South Latin High School for Drama. Directly out of school, Jani was cast in "The White Ravens" directed by Lars Rudolfsson at the Orion Theatre. The play was selected winner of best play at the International Theatre Festival in Lisboa. The experience was a dream come true for Jani because he had always wanted to work with this ensemble. Soon after, Jani began another trek around the world landing in Southern California. He briefly attended the University of California, San Diego before transferring to the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and University of California, Los Angeles. Jani's first notable film role came when he was cast in Spike Lee's Bamboozled (2000). He once ditched school to see "Do the right thing" by Mr Lee and thought, "I'd die to work with him but that won't ever happen". Sure enough it did.
