Before he made his acting debut in I Dreamed of Africa (2000), while living in Italy he was active in school plays for most of his life.
Speaks fluent Italian.
His father lives in Rome, Italy, where he is the dean of a university there. His mother, on the other hand, is an artist and teacher.
Currently attends UCLA.
An avid painter and sculptor, he won his high school's senior Arts award.
