Bogdan Stupka / Biography

Bohdan Stupka is widely recognized as Ukraine's most famous living actor. His most memorable stage role in the last ten years has been as Tevye the Milkman in 'Sholom Alecheim' 's Tevye-Tevel (adapted to screen and stage in the West as Fiddler on the Roof (1971). After a brief stint as the Ukrainian Minister of Culture, he is currently the Executive Director of the Ivan Franko State Theater in Kyiv. Along with his administrative duties, Mr. Stupka continues to perform several times a week in new and traditional productions, tours with his company, appears in films two or three times a year and still devotes an enormous amount of time to his wife of many years as well as his son Ostap Stupka and his grandchildren.
