David Jonathan Syczylo was born March 7, 1978 in Seoul, South Korea and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. His father a retired Major of the US Army and mother who was born in Vietnam.Visual media has inspired David Jonathan Syczylo ever since watching "Star Wars - Return of the Jedi" for the first time on the big screen. He knew from that moment someday he would be working in the visual entertainment industry. David loves Sci-Fi, Horror, Action Adventure, Romance, and Musicals. The creature from "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" is one of his all time favorite classic movie monsters and "The Phantom of the Opera" is his favorite Broadway Musical. David loves puppetry from the Muppets, Fraggle Rock, to the Dark Crystal and more. Real interaction on set is something David favors over computer-generated imagery.As a kid David and his friends would take the video camera out and make video movies. David also built many items from Lego to models, even building custom play sets for his action figures. As he grew older his passion of building things progressed into props and costumes that have inspired other creators out there to follow his steps. In 2001 David created an interactive CD-ROM on Customizing the Star Wars Universe. This CD-ROM taught people how to customize and create their own Star Wars action figures, which went over extremely well in the customizing world of Star Wars toys. This CD-ROM is no longer being produced.In 2002 David worked for the Office of Air Permits at the Indianapolis Government Center where he helped create an informative training video for state employees. From there David has been contracted by Lucasfilm LTD on two occasions the first contract to create the six-foot tall 25th Anniversary and Thank You card that was on display in 2002 at the Star Wars Celebration II where fans from all over the world were encouraged to sign the card. This card was presented to George Lucas. Then again in 2004 David was once again contracted by Lucasfilm LTD to create a four-foot model of the Death Star that was displayed at the Star Wars Celebration III in 2005.David started his educational training by attending the Herron School of Art in Indianapolis, Indiana where he got his training in traditional fine art skills and art history. His drawing professors told David that his style is that of Degas. From there he progressed into Visual Communications - Multimedia Specialty with a background in business practices while attending both I.U.P.U.I. (Indiana University, Purdue University of Indianapolis) and Ivy Tech State College, Indianapolis. He graduated with honors in 2001 as a member of Phi Theta Kappa.David has acted in one television commercial for the Central Indianapolis Regional Blood Center in 1997. David has worked on a few short films such as "Carbonite" which won second place in the 2003 Atom Films Star Wars Fan Films.Most of David's video and theatrical experience has been off and behind the camera or stage using his skills to create props, costumes, scenery, and visual effects to setting up meetings and getting the business end of a project set in motion. David likes to interact with people and be involved with all aspects that make a project come together. With encouragement from both his parents to dream and have an active imagination David continues creating props, replicas, costumes, web design, and more to fuel his creative imagination.In 2005 David came aboard with Black Forest Productions as Production Manager and as Script Supervisor for "Cow Boy" a story that begins with a group of college students taking a trip into the woods for a class project. Their camping trip is cut brutally short when they discover that nature has taken a terrible turn in this darkened corner of the woods. Which led him into spearheading much of the pre-production work as Producer.
