Tampico (1977, Brooklyn, USA) was raised in San Ysidro, California, a few kilometers away from the Mexican border. A director of documentaries and fictions alike, he has been recognized as having a flair for the unusual regardless of the subject matter. Aside from being a member of the controversial Tampong Filmmaking Society in Europe, he is also one of the original founders of the International ShitArt Movement which started in Cuba with the intention of bringing surrealism to documentary filmmaking. Tampico is a graduate of the International School of Film and Television in Cuba, and has studied cinematography at Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Germany. In addition to his film studies, Tampico holds two degrees at UCLA, one in Political Science, and another in Economics.
