Born in Tokyo, Aiko Tanaka knew from a young age that she wanted to be a star. Though she says she was skinny and not that pretty as a young girl, Miss Tanaka always had a strong girly side to her, enjoying from a young age wearing her mother's perfume and make-up. By elementary school, she started modeling for catalogs and commercial ads, and by junior high Aiko decided that she wanted to be an actress. Wanting to move to Los Angeles - Hollywood being the showbiz capitol of the world - her parents instead sent her to Denver, Colorado, feeling she would be more safe there. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Franklin, Massachussetts to study theater, and after a dare from a classmate, began taking dance lessons in Boston. Aiko soon began dancing professionally, and after seeing an episode of 'Soul Train' on television, decided that she wanted to take her act to the small screen. She packed up and finally made her big move to L.A., getting gigs on 'Soul Train' and MTV's 'The Grind.' Working out everyday gave her a body perfect for modeling, which she did in the form of posing for calendars (including Women of the East and Imaginasian) and websites. More modeling gigs followed, as well as several TV appearences ('Malcom & Eddie,' 'The Man Show,' 'My Wife and Kids' and Playboy's 'Sugar and Spice'), music videos (for Destiny's Child, The Offspring and Afroman) and an indie movie. She can be seen in-person appearing at numerous car shows, expos and other events, as well as at her website, www.aikoaiko.net.
