Christian Taylor was born in Manhattan, son of abstract painter Peter Taylor and "Romper Room" host Patricia Taylor, grandson of a U.S Congressman. Raised in Eagle Mills, New York, Christian began acting at an early age when he was cast as the lead in his seventh grade production of "Mrs. McThing". This followed with other roles in high school productions of "Fiddler on the Roof" and "The Mouse that Roared". He briefly attended St. Lawrence University before transferring to The New School in Manhattan to study music.While working in a nightclub, a scout for Ford Models spotted Christian and he soon found himself working with photographers, Bruce Weber and Aldo Fallai, doing print campaigns and national commercials. In the course of the next year he traveled between Milan, Tokyo and New York doing runway shows for designers Armani and Valentino.He later enrolled at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and made his New York theatrical debut as Treplev in "The Seagull" at the Theatre Studio.In 2003 he produced his first short film, "Old Tricks", which played at many film festivals worldwide and won runner up as best newcomer in the Rushes Soho UK shorts festival.
