Kevin Jarl Barlien Tempel was born in Tromsø in Northern Norway. His debut was the short film 'Just Say No' (2000), a rather crazy slap-stick-like short film which aired first on Norwegian television, and consequently received many good reviews. During the making of this film, he also set up the film company Team Tempel film productions DA in Norway with Krister Brandser and Eystein Pedersen and associate members R. Allen Leider of Black Cat Media Associates, USA and Tore Christensen. For their next short film they set a goal to make a film worthy of a worldwide theatrical release. While building up his humanitarian organization The Children of Bulgaria Foundation, which seeks to aid homeless street children and mentally challenged in Bulgaria, Kevin decided that Team Tempel would make a documentary Mangal (literally 'garbage') about this humanitarian work and the plight of the street children of Bulgaria. Mangal is a full-length feature about the challenges of being a poor street child in a Eastern European country as Bulgaria. It is based one the true stories from these children he have met under his humanitarian work there. This film is now under pre-production.Kevin Tempel has earned one nomination in "The man of the year award" in his home city Tromsø, this was in 2003. He has also won two awards for his humanitarian work with the poor children in Bulgaria. One radio award set a new record for listener voters who voted for him. The other Award is "The care about Award" given by the football club in Tromso, also for his humanitarian work with poor children in Bulgaria.
