Alba has dedicated her life to the Arts, acting since she was four years old and dancing before she even knew how to walk. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Alba is one of nine siblings. Attending schools around the world, she quickly learned to adjust to different cultures and acquired a facility for foreign languages. She is passionate and a believer in making dreams a reality. Alba's discovery of acting came as a surprise to her. Always drawn to the screen and stage, but more so to the actors who made those stories come alive with such stunning truth and conviction, she soon realized the only path to a fulfilling life was through storytelling, to act or to dance.Alba has performed in numerous venues including the much celebrated Joyce Theater. Even the New York Times contributed, penning great reviews.Alba began focusing on acting and filmmaking. The Herbert Berghoff Studios, The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and The New York Film Academy were early influences that fed her creative desires. Alba soon decided to continue her pursuits in Los Angeles. Upon her arrival, she began to study at The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum with Ellen Geer. Alba's fire, tenacity and style quickly attracted the attention of MGM, which saw her as a perfect fit for the supporting role of Brenda in "Deuces Wild."In 2001, Alba decided to return to her roots in New York City. She completed a three-year intensive training program under the tutelage of William Esper at The William Esper Studio in New York City. Immediately following her graduation she was selected to attend the Master Class in Theater at South Hampton College taught by Alec Baldwin.In her search for true expression, Alba has closely followed the work of such great pioneers as Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, Spike Lee, Paul Thomas Anderson & Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas, who founded American Zoetrope and paved the way for future independent filmmakers.In their films, Alba discovered glorious new worlds and shared in the joy and pain of their fascinating characters, and she realized that she had the power to touch moviegoers in much the same way. Inspired by the work of these visionaries, she has recently created her own independent production company, Magic Sleep Productions. Alba wrote and directed "Posttags", a story of a soldier with post-traumatic stress disorder, struggling to retain his sanity and survive in New York City.It is through her work as an independent filmmaker and actress that Alba hopes to bring her passion for the arts and her unique voice to the forefront. She hopes to create a lasting impression that not only inspires others to do the same, but one that pushes people to think beyond their limits, to imagine worlds that most are quick to dismiss, and to challenge people to make a difference.
