A natural performer since taking to the stage at age 11, Katie Underwood has followed her creative instincts and carved out a successful musical career for herself.Katie recorded her first single Don't Be Afraid in 1999 with UK Trance act Terra Ferma, which was released in the UK . She also recorded 3 more tracks which were included on the Terra Ferma album released in early 2000. After returning from the UK , KATIE began working with singer/songwriter Charlie Rooke (formerly of The Sharp) and they formed a jazz-swing band called Corduroy Lounge. Then in October 1999 Katie auditioned for the TV show Popstars making it through to the final five. As a result she was selected to join the all girl pop group known as Bardot.Bardot achieved huge success with a double platinum album and single in Australia and New Zealand with both the following 2 singles achieving Gold. The group travelled extensively throughout Asia, achieving similar success in that territory, and in October 2000 they picked up 3 ARIA nominations for Highest selling single, Highest selling album and Best Video.Katie left Bardot in 2001 and has since established a career as a singer, songwriter and TV presenter. She has performed at the NRL Grand Final and appeared as the wedding singer on Roy & HG's The Monday Dump, Wedding Edition. She has worked as a presenter in the Channel 7 series Undercover Angels. In 2002 Katie released the No.1 dance hit Beautiful with Australian Dance sensation, Disco Montego. The single went Gold on the ARIA charts and was nominated for Best Pop release at the 2002 ARIA Awards and earnt her an APRA Award for Most Played Australian Dance work. In late 2003, Katie released her first solo single, Danger, which went to number three on the ARIA dance chart In September of 2005 she released her latest offering: Be Together - a collaboration with Australian DJ, Mr Timothy. Katie continues to write music & regularly Performs live at various venues around Melbourne.
