Born in Baltimore's Women Hospital, Larry grew up primarily in the suburbs of Maryland. His mother, Dolores was a teacher, and an activist. His father, Emerson, was a ballistics engineer at Aberdeen Proving Ground. He is the youngest of 5 children.Attending public school in Bel Air, he performed in his fifth grade talent show doing impressions. Realizing he had a knack for acting he jumped at any chance to perform.He went on to star in his high school musicals, "Fiddler on the Roof", "South Pacific" and "Carousel". He was president of his senior class, voted runner up class clown and played football and tennis. Larry attended Towson State University where he majored in Theater. He landed the lead his freshman year as Christy in "Playboy of the Western World". He performed in many shows there and graduated in 1988. Larry professional stage debut was in David Hare's "A Map of the World" (along with Thomas Gibson) at Baltimore's prestigious Center Stage. He perfomed there for two seasons. The highlights there working with Boyd Gaines in Hamlet and in Wallace Shawn's "Aunt Dan and Lemon". He moved to New York and struggled to make a living waiting tables for many years.He worked with The Barrow Group theater company and got his first big break in the movie, "In and Out" where he had the thrill of working with his former customers Kevin Kline and Matt Dillon. The next year he landed the recurring role of Det. Morris LaMotte in L&O.His great love is the New York Stage where he has performed throughout the years most notably as the lead character in David Rabe's "The Dog Problem".Larry left New York and moved to Los Angeles in the winter of 2002. He currently resides in Hollywood, California where he studies with Jeffrey Tambor.
