Jack Grinhaus was born in Toronto, Canada, on 28th July 1975 and began performing for his parents and their friends by the age of five, acting in school and camp shows while taking classes at the Leah Poslins Theater.He landed a contestant role on the popular television game show, "Just Like Mom", in 1984, in which his outgoing personality brought him to the attention of producers and landed him some auditions and commercial roles.After graduating high school as well as the prestigious Second City Conservatory in Toronto in 1994, Jack continued to work in theatre until he was accepted to the York University Theatre program later that year. In 1996 he went, studied and graduated the Amercian Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC and began working Off Broadway and Touring the US with the show, Tour De France. By this time he was also teaching improvisation and completing his first film, Gurdamilia, a hit at the New York short film festival in 1998.Upon returning to Toronto he began to work in Television and film and studied with the late Ms. Uta Hagen as well as won a THEA award for his performance in Brighton Beach Memoirs in 2002. He was also in 400 performances of the longest running show in North America, Agatha Christie's, The Mousetrap, for two seasons.Other film credits include the Showcase film Hair of the Dog and YTV's Great Canadian Cheeze Off. Jack was also the lead in the HBO pilot, Life, for 1ne Media amongst other short films and television productions. He currently lives, performs and writes plays in Toronto with his theatre company, (co-run by himself and his wife,) Bound To Create Theatre.
