D.J. Hamilton / Biography

DJ was born in Northern California where he grew up. He worked for writer Richard Brautigan's daughter in the independent film business as an editor. When he was 8 he told his parents he would become a writer. By this time he was already a child actor for ACT in San Francisco. Before making films, he was a musician, composing early in life. His first album was recorded and released when he was 17. He began making films a year later.Now he is finishing his ninth film and also finishing up his education at NYU's prestigeous Tisch School of the Arts. He has shot films with Jacopo Gassman, Leo Monteiro, Diego Borella among others. Early in life, following advice from a strange old man, he had held many different careers. He has been a fisherman, a carpenter's laborer, a butcher, a tourguide for Alcatraz, a salesman and, of course, a film editor.
